Sins of Colonialism
Sins of Colonialism is my way of confronting the violent truths and lasting scars left by systems of power and control. Through these works, I hold a mirror to the injustices carried out against Indigenous people, exposing the hypocrisy, denial, and pain, while also pointing to the need for truth, accountability, and change.
"My Sacrifice" depicts the sacrifices made by Indigenous people for the Church.
"Indian Bones and The Residential School of Doom" depicts the aftermath Revelations of the Church in Kamloops, BC.
"Sister Joe Caught in The Act," saying “What?” as she buries the bodies like it was nothing new.
"Vanna Black and The Wheel of Mis-Fortune" shows the category of Before and After where mass graves become the critical mass needed for change.
"Fists of Christinsanity" depicts he was only fulfilling the will of God.
"Poopsicle - It's True-D'oh" depicts a young politician promising clean water as he enjoys a Poopsicle made from fresh Rez Water.
"Poopsicle - Pity" depicts the Queen gobbling down a Poopsicle made using fresh Rez Water, and only in Canada. Pity.
"Pope Apology - It's a Miracle" depicts a pope who is moved by Spirit to ask that his church be forgiven for the harm they have done. Jesus and the Spirits are grateful.
"The Descent of Aanishinaabe Kwe" (front side) and "Made in (of) Prince George" (back side). Prince George is known for the Highway of Tears and this is where the energy came for this artwork. I call her Maiden because this is whom we should be protecting.
